that adds up to 100s, or maybe 1000s off diffent ways to do them, and only 1 way will work for your set up. Also taking into account that there are, what, 4-5 different retrieves, each one using a different method to achieve across all the rods, reels, lines, and lures. It's already hard to do a consistant retrieve for the entirety of cast, which is required as some fish won't bite unless your presentation is 3 dots. Especially considering how you can't do the same method to perferm the retrieve if you change ANYTHING on your rod. You say the retrievals aren't hard, but that's simply not true. The best thing i can tell you is to look at the name of the retrieval as it tells you what to do and then look at the lure and the depth the lure is at, those 3 things will quickly help you master all the retrievals.
also adjust the speed of your reel because for instance a reel with a speed of 1 will probably not be able to do a lift and drop retrival but at speed 2 or 3 (depending on the reel being used) it will do it.
each reel has it's own specs which will effect the timing of the retrival and the weight of the lure will also effect the timing because if you trying to do stop and go for instance and you have a light weight lure you may end up doing a straight retrival so you could want a heavy weighted lure instead. you just have to remember that anytime you swap a lure or reel u will have to adjust the timing to compensate for the change.
